1. Overview
This page explains how Trovecs uses Google APIs, including the Google Drive API, and how we protect information obtained through those APIs.
This disclosure supplements our Privacy Policy and is intended to provide additional information about our use of Google APIs and our compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Trovecs is a read-only product intelligence platform for ecommerce teams. Customers connect Google Drive to allow Trovecs to analyze product images and related information for features such as search, organization, catalog intelligence, and marketplace compliance.
Trovecs does not modify, move, rename, create, or delete files in your Google Drive.

2. Google APIs and Permissions We Use
Trovecs uses the Google Drive API to access product images and related information that customers choose to use with the Service.
When you connect your Google account, Trovecs requests the following Google OAuth permission:

This permission provides read-only access to files and folders stored in your Google Drive.
Trovecs requests this permission so customers can select one or more folders containing product images and allow Trovecs to analyze supported files within those folders and their subfolders. This enables features such as image search, product organization, catalog intelligence, and marketplace compliance analysis.
Although this permission provides read-only access to Google Drive, Trovecs is designed to read and analyze only the folders and files that you choose within the Service. Trovecs does not intentionally scan, index, analyze, or otherwise access unrelated content stored in your Google Drive.
Trovecs never modifies, creates, moves, renames, shares, or deletes files stored in your Google Drive.
3. How We Use Google Drive Data
Trovecs uses information obtained through the Google Drive API only to provide the user-facing functionality you request within the Service.
Depending on the features you use, Trovecs may:
- Read supported image files that you choose to use with the Service.
- Read file and folder metadata (such as file names, folder names, identifiers, timestamps, and file properties) as necessary to organize and analyze your content.
- Analyze product images to enable search, product organization, catalog intelligence, and marketplace compliance features.
- Generate Derived Service Data, such as metadata, thumbnails, search indexes, embeddings, and other information necessary to provide the functionality of the Service.
- Display search results, analysis, and recommendations within your Trovecs account.
Trovecs processes Google Drive data only for your account. We do not use one customer's Google Drive data to provide services to another customer.
Information obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide or improve the user-facing functionality that you request within the Service.
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Processing
Trovecs uses automated technologies, including artificial intelligence ("AI"), to provide certain features of the Service.
AI processing is used only to provide the user-facing functionality that you request, including features such as image analysis, product organization, search, catalog intelligence, and marketplace compliance analysis.
To provide these features, Customer Content may be processed by trusted third-party AI service providers acting on behalf of Trovecs. These providers process Customer Content solely to deliver the functionality of the Service and are contractually prohibited from using Customer Content or Derived Service Data to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Trovecs does not use Customer Content, information obtained through Google APIs, or Derived Service Data to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Any Derived Service Data generated through AI processing is maintained only as necessary to provide the functionality of the Service for your account and is not shared with other customers.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy and Limited Use
Trovecs' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- Information obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide or improve the user-facing functionality that you request within the Service.
- We do not sell information obtained through Google APIs.
- We do not use or transfer information obtained through Google APIs for advertising, including personalized advertising, interest-based advertising, or advertising measurement.
- We do not provide information obtained through Google APIs to data brokers, information resellers, or other parties for their independent use.
- We do not use information obtained through Google APIs to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not use information obtained through Google APIs, Customer Content, or Derived Service Data to train, tune, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning models, including foundational, frontier, or localized models.
Information obtained through Google APIs is disclosed to trusted service providers only when necessary to provide the functionality you request, operate the Service, maintain security, comply with applicable law, or as otherwise permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy. Such providers are contractually required to protect the information and use it only on our behalf.
These commitments apply to all information obtained through Google APIs regardless of where it is processed or stored.
6. Human Access to Google Data
Trovecs is designed so that information obtained through Google APIs is processed automatically as part of providing the Service.
We do not routinely access, review, or monitor Customer Content or information obtained through Google APIs.
A member of the Trovecs workforce may access Customer Content or Google API data only in the following limited circumstances:
- You explicitly request technical support or authorize us to investigate a specific issue.
- Access is reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, misuse, or a security incident.
- Access is required to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or an enforceable governmental request.
- Access is reasonably necessary to protect the security, integrity, or reliability of the Service.
Any such access is limited to the minimum information reasonably necessary to perform the authorized task and is restricted to personnel with a legitimate business need.
7. Data Sharing and Service Providers
Trovecs shares information obtained through Google APIs only when necessary to provide the functionality you request, operate the Service, maintain security, comply with applicable law, or as otherwise permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Information obtained through Google APIs may be disclosed to trusted third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence processing, payment processing, transactional communications, security monitoring, and customer support.
These service providers:
- Receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their services.
- Are contractually required to protect the information they receive.
- May use the information only on behalf of Trovecs and only for the services they provide to us.
- May not use information obtained through Google APIs for advertising, marketing, or to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Trovecs does not sell information obtained through Google APIs, disclose it to data brokers or information resellers, or make it publicly available.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Trovecs retains information obtained through Google APIs only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and to fulfill the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Original files stored in your Google Drive are not permanently stored by Trovecs and remain under your control.
Trovecs may retain customer-specific Derived Service Data, such as metadata, thumbnails, search indexes, embeddings, and other information generated solely to provide the Service while your account remains active.
If you disconnect Google Drive or revoke Trovecs' access, Trovecs will no longer access your Google Drive. Previously generated Derived Service Data will be retained or deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.
If you delete your Trovecs account or request deletion of your personal information, Trovecs deletes or anonymizes applicable information from active production systems without undue delay, subject to applicable legal obligations.
Deleted information may remain in secure, encrypted backup systems for up to thirty (30) days solely for disaster recovery and business continuity purposes, after which it is permanently removed through our normal backup lifecycle.
Backup copies are maintained only for disaster recovery and business continuity purposes and are not used for routine business operations.
9. Revoking Google Drive Access
You remain in control of your Google Drive connection at all times.
You may revoke Trovecs' access to your Google account at any time by:
- Disconnecting your Google account within the Trovecs application.
- Removing Trovecs from your connected applications through your Google Account security settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
After access is revoked, Trovecs will no longer access your Google Drive.
Previously generated customer-specific Derived Service Data will be retained or deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
